Welcome to my first ever blog post on my new website! 

As this site launched, I was reminded of the scene from Steve Martin’s movie “The Jerk.”  Steve Martin is anxiously awaiting the mail. When the phone book is delivered, he opens it excitedly, proclaiming, “The new phonebook is here… I’m a somebody now!”

Well, NewSong.Studio is here on the internet… “I’m officially an artist and musician now!” 

*cue laughter,* because everyone who knows me knows that I’ve been making art and music for most of my life. However, there is something that feels exciting and official about putting up my best pieces for the public to see in a cohesive way.  I’ve done commissions and played in bands as a large part of my professional art and music career so far.  Although I love using my talents for group visions, this feels like the beginning of something new. I am sharing my personal projects in the hopes they touch other’s hearts and make a positive contribution to humanity.

I have a lot planned for this site.  I will be recording an album of songs I wrote about identity, spirit, and healing at the end of April.  I have author’s events and concerts planned for the summer. I’m working on some leads for art shows. I’m always thinking about the significance of each step of this process in relationship to my goal of having a fulfilling and meaningful life, so I have a lot I will be blogging about.

Steve Martin says, “Millions of people look at this book everyday. This is the kind of spontaneous publicity-your name in print- that makes people!”

Well, hundreds of millions of people just in the USA use the internet every day. If you do not know me and have stumbled onto this site, or if you do know me and are here to check this out, welcome!
